No one is surprised by the Jets’ decision to demote right tackle Wayne Hunter. Especially not right tackle Wayne Hunter.

Hunter said Thursday that the news wasn’t really news to him.

“I wasn’t surprised,” he said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “Everyone knows. The whole NYC knows I was struggling. I was waiting for it, to be honest.”

Hunter realizes that the Jets could no longer wait for him to step it up.

“They got to make moves now,” Hunter said. “The Bills are around the corner.”

Some may say there’s a connection between Hunter’s nonchalance about getting benched and his nonchalance about getting beaten on the field.
