Eric Berry avoids injury on low block from Leon Washington

Leon Washington, Russell Wilson, Eric Berry AP

Last year, a low block on Chiefs safety Eric Berry by Bills receiver Stevie Johnson resulted in a torn ACL for Berry.

On Friday night, Berry escaped injury on another low block.

This time, Berry was chasing Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson when running back Leon Washington went low, toward Berry’s knees.  Berry hurdled and flipped and eventually got up.

Wilson has 58 yards rushing on two carries, and he has completed six of nine passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  The Seahawks lead, 16-0.

Running backs are going to hit low if they do not have the size to take on Berry. If I remember correctly, Berry does enjoy blowing up people with tremendous hits.

I am sure Berry was going to be gentle if he got to the quarterback.

The size to take on Berry? Dudes not exactly a monster, most RB’s are the same size.

Leon hit him in the hip, go watch the replay. He wasn’t going for the knees..

Lucky for Leon his Legal play did not result in an injury or you would have heard cry baby Berry complain about it all off season like with Johnson.

If you saw the replay Leon hit the thigh, not the knee.. and that’s the future of tackling or blocking in the NFL unfortunately because of concussions and fines players get hit with for hitting high

It’s time for Berry to make ambiguous accusations and start whining now!
