I know that plenty of sources have said that Wallace isn’t the guy that the Colts are after, but he would make sense. Wallace wouldn’t be the teams number one WR, because that role already belongs to Reggie Wayne. From his years in Baltimore, Chuck Pogano knows what Wallace is capable of, and so does Bruce Ariens, which is why Irsay may be willing to give up a higher pick for Wallace.

With most owners being random elderly windbags who quietly sit in their Ivory Tower… I find it interesting to have a “colorful” owner who talks and acts like one of the players sometimes.

While it is big business… IT’S JUST A GAME after all. Irsay is a very entertaining owner to follow. Call him names or a “16 year old girl” or whatever you want, but owners like Irsay and Cuban are very unique in pro sports.

Correct me if I am wrong…. but didn’t Welker sign his franchise tag?

If so, doesn’t that mean he specifically can’t be traded?

Even if he was ‘allowed’ to be traded…. can the Colts actually trade for him given they do not have enough cap room to absorb him and his franchise tag (roughly 10 million)?

For Bowe, same issue.

On the other hand…. Mike Wallace is what… roughly 3 million this year? He can get his future contract later on as the Colts are gaining a TON of cap space after this season (Freeney, Clark, Manning deals coming totally off).
