APGiants receiver Victor Cruz said he thought Jets safety LaRon Landry “got a pretty good lick on me” in last weekend’s preseason game. The league office says it was a legal lick.
Landry told reporters today that he did not receive the dreaded FedEx letter that is sent to players if they’re fined by the league office for the hard hit on the pass to Cruz over the middle.
“No FedEx, baby,” Landry said, via Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger. “Don’t wish that upon me.”
Some observers thought Landry led with his head and should have been flagged, but Cruz said he didn’t have a problem with Landry’s hit. The league office didn’t either.

Popcorn muscles.
Nor did JETS HOMER, Greg Buttle, who was calling the game on CBS. It was helmet to helmet and he led with it.
That’s because his name isn’t James Harrison.
And nor should he have been… Clean as a whistle.
L² is standing intimidatingly over this post.
See you in IR soon, I’m sure.
love how the Jets fans talk about their one highlight from the game with Landry’s hit. Not worth celebrating considering, you know, it was a first down catch and all.
When he says “No Fedex, baby. Don’t wish that upon me.” is he relieved about not getting a fine or about leaving the Sarlacc Pit that is Fedex Field?

Who cares? We won’t miss him and look forward to watching him get toasted and be out of the league in two years time.
If Landry had put a dirty hit on Cruz, Victor would be out a game or two.
I am a huge GIANTS fan, but that hit by Landry was a great one, it was clean, he hit with his shoulder.
It’s football, there are going to be big hits, and Cruz came away just fine.
@jbl
Jets fans have been talking about anything besides Wayne Hunter? News to me. What did that strawman ever do to you?
Super clean, just like Mays’ hit.
It was a huge hit that makes one cringe, yet it was a clean hit. I don’t care who you root for, you don’t want to see a potentially dangerous hit by any player.
Cruz got up and resumed business.
It’s some of you Jets haters tha need to get the Jets out of your heads.
Kudos to the objective ones!
Goodell figured playing for the Jets was punishment enough.
Cruz not whinning about hit because doesn’t want to join Prince in cold tub.
Stop complaining and just play the game!
Why would he be fined, that was a great legal clean hit, and Cruz took it like the pro that he is. Good on both sides.
