So teams no longer need to waive/injured 3 year and under players to move them to IR? If so this is one stupid rule.

The NFL is the only organization that I can think of where massive job loss is so highly publicized and noticeable. That’s why I support a spring football league because so many quality football players end up out of work. As a football fan, I root for the canadian football league, ufl, usfl, arena football etc

The NFL should expand roster size from 53 to atleast 55. Each NFL team has 53 players on their active roster and 8 more on their practice squad. That’s 61 total players per team. That’s 1,952 players contracted to NFL teams. Not counting of course, all of the players that end up on injured reserve and not counting towards the 53 man roster or 8 man practice squads.

Gameday rosters actually force you to dress less than 53. I am for expanding rosters period.

Kicker Randy Bullock, the fifth-round pick, was placed on injured reserve. Offensive tackle Nick Mondek, the sixth-round pick, was placed on waivers.

Others placed on waivers were center Thomas Austin, linebacker Omar Gaither, punter Brett Hartmann, receiver Bryant Johnson, receiver Mario Lewis, running back Davin Meggett, defensive end Jimmy Saddler-McQueen, fullback Derrell Smith, guard Kasey Studdard and cornerback Torri Williams.

Eagles have 3 guys on reserve lists (1 on PUP and 2 on NFI) that could take care of up to 3 of the 4 cuts they need to make to get to 75. They might still want to have the option of taking Colt Anderson back onto the active roster, so they might cut 2, but Jason Peters and Mike Patterson seem like locks to remain on the reserve – Non-Football-injury list.
