Barring Vick’s first season, I have not been impressed. He is hurt all the time, makes poor decisions with the football and himself, and doesn’t know how to slide or protect the football (i.e. Throwing it away and not taking sacks) the amount of reward is not great enough to justify the risk.

i’m encouraged by what I’ve seen from our young rookie this preseason, despite the fact that preseason can definitely be misleading. I don’t think that the eagles plan to trade files any time soon. Remember, the were able to evaluate Kolb for years before they decided he wasn’t someone they wanted as their franchise qb. We don’t know what the future holds for him, but I do know that the eagles have a $16 mil decision to make next year, and Vick’s play (and lack thereof) last year was not worth it imo. a franchise qb has to actually be in the field to make an impact, and even when he was, he turned the ball over way too much.

Difference between Foles and every other backup who has come through Philly is that fantastic arm. He can and will make every throw. Oh, and he’s not nearly as skittish as Kolb…

of course. instead of having vick throw quick and short passes, they have him go deep to desean 300 times a game which exposes how bad the OL is. look what they are doing with foles and trent.

Foles starts this year, does amazing. Next year, he gets traded somewhere and does nothing. Vick starts and goes down again and some other nobody starts and gets traded the following year. Repeat cycle.

Totally underrated coming out of college. Was second to only Luck in the PAC 12. Played with limited talent around him at AZ, similar to Cutler at Vandy.

The BIG question is why cant Vick slide. The one time he tried he looked like someone that had a syncopal episode mid run. Reid should be having him do slide drills everyday until he gets it.

As a Seattle fan, Foles was high on my list of potential QB acquisitions going into the draft. I watched the Az-Stanford game last year to watch Luck, and walked away from the game very impressed by Foles. I thought his mobility was underrated by some draft pundits.

I think Foles is the best thing that’s happened to the Eagles QB position since, well….a young Donovan McNabb (hold the boos, please). But before Eagles fans get too excited about him, just remember that people were saying the same thing about Bobby Hoying 15 years ago. We all know how that one turned out.

The fact is that Vick makes more rookie decisions then the rookie QB. Andy Reid is living and dying by Vick expect a funeral after a QB controversy early to mid season.

It’s hard not to be excited by Foles but I want to see how he responds after a bad loss. If he bounces back like he does after a big hit then maybe theyre on to something.

How Refreshing! Watching Foles is a throwback from 40 years ago when players played sports for the love of the game and having fun. And because they weren’t making millions of dollars they actually gave maximum effort as opposed to worrying about getting hurt and losing money.

I think any QB that plays in Reid’s system will look good for at least a little while because they pass so much, even backups can rack up big numbers (Feeley, Kolb, Garcia).
