The Buccaneers haven’t given an official word yet on right guard Davin Joseph, with coach Greg Schiano saying post-game “It doesn’t look good.”

But WTSP sportscaster Dave Wirth, who was working as the Bucs sideline reporter last night, reported that Joseph suffered a broken kneecap, and will miss at least three months (via JoeBucsFan.com).

As bad as that sounds, it’s probably better than a torn ACL.

That’s no relief in the short term for the Bucs, as they’d almost certainly place him on IR if he was going to miss that kind of time.

He’d likely be replaced by Ted Larsen, but that’s a huge step down for a team that has shown it wants to be physical in the run game.
