“They punched us in the face and we didn’t respond well,” Breaston said. “Everybody is big on the third preseason game. It’s a step back as a team.”

Facts are facts,

The Chiefs CANNOT get behind in a game with Matt Cassel at QB.

Romeo is a nice man who simply doesn't have what it takes to be a HC in ANY league, much less the NFL.

These preseason games mean nothing but fool’s gold. They are literally amped up scrimmages, that the public is duped into paying full price to watch. I don’t really start paying attention until the final cutdowns. The preseason record has zero bearing on post season records.
----
The preseason record has no bearing on regular season records either, but the third game is more dress rehearsal than scrimmage, and with starters playing well into the third quarter, you don't want to see them stinkin' up the place, and that's just what the Chiefs did.

A couple of rough PRESEASON games.

If the Chiefs get the running game going behind an improved offensive line, Cassel doesn't have to be great.

Tyson Jackson wasn't drafted to be a pass rushing defensive end. That being said, the whole defensive line needs to step up and stop the run/occupy offensive lineman.

Someone other than Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali needs to step up on that linebacking corps.

Sorry to say Chiefs fans but your team is in deep trouble because when you've had the whole offseason of workouts and three preseason games the coach should already know what his team does well and doesn't do well, espcecially having been the interm head coach last year. Crennel sounds just like Mike Singletary did when he was coach of the 49ers, way over his head and likely to get out coached week in and week out.

These preseason games mean nothing but fool's gold. They are literally amped up scrimmages, that the public is duped into paying full price to watch. I don't really start paying attention until the final cutdowns. The preseason record has zero bearing on post season records. Most preseason wonders, never even make it to the post season. KC will be fine in a weak division. Because they have a high quality defense and solid running game. Especially if all of their RBs are healthy. I do believe Romeo needs to stop whining and sounding red alarms for fans and his team. His team performed for him last year and will do it again, if he inspires them. Maybe KC should have kept him at Defensive Coordinator where he is great. And brought in a real Head Coach like Gruden or Cowher to inspire confidence.

This is easy.... rotten draft picks and bad talent, for some reason the organization thinks is good.

1.) Cassel (Sucks, can't make decisions under pressure as a QB, throws softballs)

2.) Tyson Jackson - (High draft pick) - no pass rush

3.) Baldwin - Another reach as a first round pick,

4.) Poe - at some point - the Chiefs need to draft for talent - not potential

5.) Dorsey - good at stopping run, no pass rush

6.) Not spending money - letting Brandon Carr go, when the team is way under the salary cap, and could have paid him.

7.) O-Line - Not playing players in positions they should be naturally playing when they were drafted (Brandon Albert - Guard in college, Left Tackle in NFL?, Hudson, Guard in college, Center in NFL, goes on and on.

I went to the game last night and I was totally shocked by the play of there defense. I know Lewis is out and Flowers, but they got gashed at the line of scrimmage against the run. Len Dawson pointed out on the radio that they are last against the run in the NFL this preseason. Regardless preseason or not, they are getting beat bad at the line and they need to fix it fast. I believe they gave up 189yds last night on the ground, I am starting to get a little worried about there Defense. Hope I am wrong..

I've got tickets to the Bills Home opener against K.C. I hope they are identical to where they are in the pre-season play wise. I can't wait until Freddy Fred-X Jackson and CJ the Thriller Spiller are released on them Chiefs. The double headed ground punisher's from Buffalo. I am so excited!!

Reality is starting to come back to the NFL. Everyone wanted to say the Chiefs looked so good on paper and were going to win the west. Then games start to be played and everyone remembers that this is a QB driven league. Broncos will win the west because they have Manning and a very good coaching staff!

Let's see... they get their fans expectations up ridiculously every year... yes, they do that well. Oh, and they continue to believe that Matt Cassell is a starting quarterback ... they do that well.... they tend to find embarrassing ways to lose rather well..... Outside of those.. I can't really see what they've done that warrants all the "They will win the West" attitudes......

I read a good article this morning that reminded me that my and a lot of chiefs fans expectations are much like the 2011 Eagles fans expectations. And as they learned, you can have all the talent in the world but they need time to gel with each other. Will the Chiefs undeniable talent ever freakin gel? I sure hope so. But its never a given
===============

That article was clearly written by an idiot, then. The 2011 Eagles had much, much more talent than this team does. The Eagles went 10-6 the year prior after not being expected to do anything. It was only natural to look at all their acquisitions and believe they would be better.

And one other difference...no way the Chiefs go 8-8.

Neither team will make the playoffs. AFC West will be either Raiders or Denver Donkeys. NFC West will be 49ers.

Chiefs have 2 of the most physical WR's in the league as a tandem. 2nd fastest STARTING back in the league. If you cant find a way to be productive on Offense, then get a new OC or QB.
