EJ says: Aug 26, 2012 5:53 AM

Pryor played well but will not have a shot at starting while Palmer and Leinhart are there. The only way Pryor gets to start is if Palmer goes down and Leinhart gets benched, otherwise his talents will be wasted sitting on the bench. Its terrible.
------------
The bench is where Pryor belongs. He's an explosive athlete, not a starting quarterback. They could work him in on some run packages, but at this point he's just a faster Tim Tebow.

Hey I don't want to interrupt your reporting and all, but you might want to include the final score in your report.

Typical. I also love the part where you talk about Mcfaddens touchdown like it should not have happened.

@tatum064 Everyone always makes excuses for the guy and they don't admit mistakes in their evaluation of him! The more that happens the worse he gets. He is not accurate or less turnover prone when he has his healthiest receivers. They used the in-season arrival excuse on him even after they said "oh this is a great thing because he's reunited with Hue Jackson". Blatant hypocrisy and lack of accountability!!!

Plus in his final game where he did not play with Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson he lost the game for the team and threw 1 TD & 2 INT. However, in the two prior games everyone said all he is better without those two even though in his second and third to last games he never had a 300-yard passing game and in only one of those two games he threw four touchdowns. One of those two opponents was Cleveland!!!! Beating Cleveland is an accomplishment???

This is the media's most overprotected player in the NFL they will be proven wrong because every time they proclaim something the opposite comes to fruition. Just go ask Lance Armstrong, Joe Paterno, and Donovan McNabb. The media thought that they were precious too and the opposite came to fruition. Don't ever trust a source that never likes to be the bigger people and just admit incompetence or incorrect judgement; especially when they are constantly wrong!

Nice to see the Raiders have three credible QB's instead of none like they had the past few seasons. Carson Palmer needs to step up his game or he'll be replaced by Leinart or Pryor. Pryor wasn't whistling Dixie when he said he needed to step up his game after playing like dog crap. Palmer needs to Just Score Baby. Go Raiders!

"Al Davis was good in his time but he has ruined this franchise for the past ten years trying to push his old ways on a changed game. People might not like speaking ill of the dead, but it’s the truth and anyone with half a sense knows it.

That being said, they have a lot of talent. If they can stay healthy and show something at the QB position with ‘anyone’, they could be a contender."

Wow! I must not have "half a sense", because they have a lot of talent on the team because of Al Davis so how did he ruin this franchise? And I beleive he is the last owner of an afc west team to go to a Super Bowl, yet hes the worst owner and ruined his franchise, correct? Yeah if you're gonna speak ill of the dead make sure it's a goood point.

I'm a Raider fan. I look at the schedule and only see 6 or so realistic wins.
I really want Palmer to be successful, but without a standout receiver (they don't have one), I'm just not seeing it.
I foresee a lot of heart-breaking, drive killing interceptions in the future.
Hue really screwed the pooch looking for immediate glory for himself. Set the franchise back probably 5 years....

The last decade of decadence for the Raiders can be viewed in this respect.... (Yes I am a Raider fan)

Biggest draft bust in NFL history.... JaMarcus Russell
Biggest trade bust in NFL history... Carson "The Interceptor" Palmer

The Raiders are marching forward into the season with a QB that only throws to CB and a RB that cures his fumbling issue by being injured.

On a positive note, the defense is knocking some people out. The favorable schedule might be playing a team the week after they face The Raiders D.

I'm worried about Palmer. Not ready to burn the cat at the stake like so many have already, but the west coast offense is all about accuracy, timing and throwing to a spot. Palmer telegraphs his throws, so unless it's a really deep ball, defenders will always have time to react.

Streater is clearly moving up the depth chart and if Ford is not careful, he might find himself playing primarily on special teams with limited playing time at WR. Nice to see Criner finally show what he can do, he needed that badly. Pryor was no surprise to me. People have been bashing the kid but he can play, just needs to be out there.

It will be very interesting now that we are at the cut down phase of the game.

Palmer telegraphs his throws, so unless it’s a really deep ball, defenders will always have time to react.

As a Lions fan and a Spartan/confirmed Buckeye hater I would have to admit that Pryor looks really good. Not just running either. He has thrown a few nice passes too.
On a side note I'm shocked that Kevin Smith got injured.

Good game for Pryor, but Palmer is the QB for this team and should. He had one bad play - the pick by the lineman. Other than that he played pretty well.

The some of you talk you would think QB's never throw picks or have incomplete passes. Palmer was 17 for 26 for almost 200 yards in one half of play. Oh, and that was without his top two WR's (Moore & Ford) in the game. He'll be fine.

After playing like “dog crap” he gets a 59-yard run. Meanwhile, his 1st string teammate Carson Palmer continues to play like elephant manure!!!

===========

137 yds passing and two hundred plus total yards..Palmer was decent, but his receivers have to help him out....

I'd be more concered with Ford and Moore.

Al Davis was good in his time but he has ruined this franchise for the past ten years trying to push his old ways on a changed game. People might not like speaking ill of the dead, but it's the truth and anyone with half a sense knows it.

That being said, they have a lot of talent. If they can stay healthy and show something at the QB position with 'anyone', they could be a contender.

Palmer wasn’t able to get the team in end zone? Huh? Was ne not on the field when DMAC scored? My eyes say he was.

------------------------

Yeah, Palmer tried to sneak one in ... he's got to cut down on turnovers and forcing stuff.
