Denial is a very powerful drug apparently for if you Palmer loyalists can't see that that red headed buffoon is going to continue to throw moronic int's then you all need to see the psyche doc ASAP. He has done this for 5 yrs yet for some reason you think it will all of a sudden go away just because he says he isn't concerned? That's because you can't teach a dumb dog nothing for he's been doing this far too long to change now, the sooner the Raiders accept this and move on from Carson the more explosive this offense will be. Pryor was beast, just look how much he improved just by getting more reps with Leinart out. Imagine what he will become once the Raiders come to their senses and give him the 1st team reps. Just like Russell Wilson.

The kid played great he showed he has a big time arm and he maybe the fastest QB in NFL history with a blazing speed of 4.38 in the 40 he does however need another preseason under his belt and he needs to sure up his game.

But the people who try to say he played against the 3rd stringers is complete garbage he played against some starters and then 2nd stringers he didn't play against 3rd stringers the 4th QB did, the starters played part of the 3rd quarter when he came in the game because Matt didn't play.

How does Leinart even have a job in the NFL any more?

This coming from a Cardinals fan who was unwilling to label him as a bust until he got knocked out of the Texans game last year.

Up until that point I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and just say that he got beat out by a potential future hall of famer (Warner) and then had a biased coach (Whisenhunt) after he clearly outperformed Derek Anderson in the preseason of 2011.

When he signed with Houston I thought he was in a great position for when Schaub inevitably got hurt. He had a golden opportunity and instantly got hurt when his chance arrived. When he got hurt with with the Raiders it became almost comical.

Pryor will easily be the #2 QB at some point this year.

Most of the guys he played against, with the exception of a few special teams guys, won't be on detroits active 53. So take it with a grain of salt, but in my opinion he showed he is still a playmaker who may be worth giving a shot down the line at some point, whether its next year or perhaps the one after that.
villa41 says:

I’ve heard some say Palmer is a bad fit for Knapp’s offense. That’s complete nonsense. Let’s look at some stats. Palmer has an 86.3 career QB rating. That’s 18 ALL TIME, and better than Eli Manning’s 82.1. Palmer has a 62.7 career completion percentage. That’s 14th ALL TIME. Just to compare, that’s better than Matthew Stafford (you know the hot shot young gun we just beat) at 59.8 (38th all time). CP also is 10th among active QB’s with 7.2 yards per attempt. That’s right in the neigborhood with Peyton Manning at 7.6 (6th) and Brady at 7.5 (7th).
----------------------------------------

This has my vote for worst post and worst argument of the day. What on earth do CAREER VOLUME PASSING STATISTICS have to do with proving or disproving whether Palmer is a good or bad fit for the version of the West Coast offense that Knapp runs? What do statistics accrued playing for Hue Jackson and Bob Bratkowski have anything to do with whether he is a fit for the Knapp system?

This is the most asinine-ten-eleven asi-twelve argument anyone could make. We know Palmer WAS good and that he put up great numbers in the past in DIFFERENT systems what we're looking at is his fit for the CURRENT system (BTW how'd he do last year?)

The Knapp system involves alot of bootlegging and getting out of the pocket and misdirection to setup passing plays - Palmer is not a particularly athletic QB and is more of a strong-armed downfield pocket passer. What attributes does Palmer have that make him a good fit for the Knapp system? I'm not knocking Palmer, I'm a fan of the guy and think he could still be elite in the right system and environment but I question your "logic" that he is a fit for the Knapp system

Pryor played well but he still has a long ways to go. He did his damage doesn't back-up players but was still impressive. He is athletic enough to throw at the opposition in another package.

Palmer is fine. The one INT was Eddie McGee's fault. However the one picked off by the DL was on Palmer. He seems to have a stupid INT every game. That can't happen when the games actually count!

The kid did fine, but he has a long way to go to be a viable starting QB in this league. Palmer is the present and future for the next several years, and that's a good thing. He's only 32 and has a lot of good football left.

Palmer has the intangibles you need in your QB too, like being the hardest worker and good leader. Shoot, he's Pryor's biggest cheerleader and mentor.

Yeah, we'll be just fine with Palmer. He'll be even better when our best receivers in Moore and Ford come back. This team looks like the class of the West. The defense looks vastly improved, and the offense should be even better than last year.

My concerns at this point are special teams and red zone scoring. Points follow yards, though. As long as we keep moving the ball like we have, the points will eventually come. CP is not the problem he's part of the solution.

Palmer has the intangibles you need in your QB too, like being the hardest worker and good leader. Shoot, he’s Pryor’s biggest cheerleader and mentor.

Yeah, we’ll be just fine with Palmer. He’ll be even better when our best receivers in Moore and Ford come back. This team looks like the class of the West. The defense looks vastly improved, and the offense should be even better than last year.

My concerns at this point are special teams and red zone scoring. Points follow yards, though. As long as we keep moving the ball like we have, the points will eventually come. CP is not the problem he’s part of the solution.

What a stupid question. Pryor has looked like complete garbage until that game and it's questionable whether he has what it takes to even be an NFL caliber backup

Palmer might not be a good fit for Knapp's offense and has struggled this pre-season but the suggestion of Pryor being in the conversation is as rediculous a knee-jerk suggestion as any - heck even Leinart, ridicule him all you want, is a far better player (at this point) and a good fit Knapp's offense

He definitely needs more time to develop, but he showed enough last night to warrant some playing time. A package of plays should be designed for the red zone or as a change of pace a few times a game to keep the defense off balance.

He's a guy like Tebow you don't want looking over your shoulder. Palmer and especially Lehnerz better light a fire because Pryor will be on the bench praying they get injured so he has his chance at glory and to redeem himself.
I hope the O line give Palmer the protection he needs rather than slack off making him look bad so the kid can come in an play.
It happened in Tennessee to give Vince the chance he needed and it can happen elsewhere.
