The Rams finished up their transactions to get to 75 players and a couple of more recognizable names made the list this time.

Wide receiver Danario Alexander was waived-injured after a hamstring injury left him sidelined for all but a few practices this summer. The Rams would be allowed to bring Alexander back to put him on injured reserve if he passes through waivers, but Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that he’ll get an injury settlement from the team instead.

Alexander’s talent has never been in question, but he’s had a hard time staying on the field dating back to his college days at Missouri. He’s had five surgeries on his left knee alone, which makes it surprising that he was able to play enough to catch 46 passes for 737 yards and three touchdowns for the Rams in the last two seasons.

The Rams also placed defensive tackle Trevor Laws on injured reserve because of a patellar tendon injury. He was signed away from the Eagles as a free agent this offseason in hopes of bolstering the interior of the line, but those duties will now fall to Kendall Langford and rookie Michael Brockers.

Tight end Brody Eldridge, a fifth-round pick of the Colts in 2010, was waived. Eldridge faces a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Offensive lineman Ryan McKee and long snapper Travis Tripucka were also waived on Monday.
