APAll signs have been pointing to it, and now the official depth chart reveals it.
As spotted by the folks at JoeBucsFan.com, rookie tailback Doug Martin has leapfrogged LeGarrette Blount as the starting tailback in Tampa.
Three prior depth charts listed Blount as the starter.
Despite the depth chart that was in place on Friday, Martin started over Blount in the preseason game against the Patriots.
It’s no surprise. Coach Greg Schiano said earlier this month that the plan and hope was for Martin to win the job.

Pretty impressive from part time safety to 1st string 1st round RB.
All Blount has to do is sucker punch Doug Martin and he’ll be #1 again.
C’mon Muscle Hamster! I’m rooting for you!!
Doug Martin is liable to get punched in the face..

Soon after reading the new depth chart, Blount was observed sucker-punching former BSU Martin.
Missed out on him in my draft and now I’m super pissed.
Call me when Ryan Williams leap frogs Beanie Wells.
That punk from Idaho deserved it. And Blount is still a beast.
Its the right decision…blount is worthless
He’s going to be good! Just watch the knees when you play the Saints…
Blount force trauma to the face
The Muscle Hamster is a more versatile back than Punchy. His ascension is no surprise.
Muscle hamster is his nickname? really?? yeah that’s pretty gay.
Will Blount still be in charge of fumbling the football away? Because he is good at that. Great, in fact.
Yeah….they won’t be running much after the Saints tag 30 on them…
Not surprising. I said before the draft and still stand by the notion that Martin will be the most productive RB of this draft class.
Consider this Blount smoked!
Some will still prefer a Blount before the season is over. too may be a premature ejaculation.
It must be tremendously difficult to coach someone as insipid, lazy and surly as Blount. It won’t be a long tenure with coach S., he has no interest with players of Blount’s ilk, now that he is coaching in TB.
Punch comments are getting pretty old…
Better to let people assume you are fools than to open your mouths and prove it. I notice most of you Blount naysayers are not even Bucs fans.
Both players are great. Blount fixed his fumbling issues, is catching passes and still needs to perfect his blocking. Not bad improvement since last year.
But I realize most of you don’t watch him play…so you are talking in complete ignorance.
And, oh yes, let’s not forget…Blount was injured in the last game (slightly) and this upcoming game is a good chance to rest him…you know…like most of the other real starters?
Trade Blount to Philly. They run a lot and call themselves better than they really are. Just like the wraps. Oh and the Eagles.
Blount seemed to recognize Martin’s potential when he said a few weeks back that they’d make the best tandem in the league. If you’re the RB with the experience and come in as the starter, you probably shouldn’t make that comment via the press.
Eagles are loaded at rb, last thing they need is Blount.
Oh, and they pass much more than they run – you obviously don’t watch many Eagles games or you would be aware of this simple fact.
Go Doug, Go! Love seeing the 2 and 3 star recruiting classes at BSU start filling the ranks of NFL rosters. Imagine that, a college coach that actually teaches and develops his players… Doug will be a monster for years. You can officially focus on some other position of need.
Karma is something…… A guy from Boise taking my job (Blount’s voice)
