APThe Eagles got part of the way to the 75-man limit on Sunday and they took the final four st eps on Monday ahead of the 4 p.m. deadline.
They did it, in part, by moving a pair of veterans off the active roster, at least temporarily.Tackle Jason Peters was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list as a result of the Achilles injuries he suffered during the offseason. Peters will be eligible to start practicing and playing with the team after their sixth game this season, although there’s not much expectation that Peters will be doing anything but rehabbing this season.
Defensive tackle Mike Patterson was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list as a result of the brain surgery he had in January to repair an anteriovenous malformation. He will also be eligible to return to action after six games, although coach Andy Reid has indicated recently that Patterson might not be able to play this year.
The Eagles also placed guard Mike Gibson on injured reserve because of a hip injury and waived wide receiver Jamel Hamler.

Mike Patterson gobbled up Eli in that pic!
But he should probably consider retiring. No need to take any more blows to the head and risk further injury to the brain.
Good luck to him.
