APEvery team is required to be at 75 players by 4:00 p.m. ET Monday. The Jets took it one player farther.
Cutting to 80 before Sunday night’s game against the Panthers, the Jets made six roster moves on Monday, dropping their total roster to 74.
Gone are linebacker Ambrose Damario, receiver Stanley Aruke, receiver Wes Kemp, running back Jeremy Stewart, and kicker Josh Brown.
They also waived fullback/tight end Josh Baker with the “injured” designation. If he clears waivers, he’ll land on the Jets’ injured reserve list.

What’s the difference between putting someone straight on to IR versus waiving them on to the IR? What does a team benefit and what does the player lose?
they could have done themselves a favor by cutting savior boy.
Tebow is still employed by them so I personally don’t care.
And somehow Wayne Hunter is still employed
@khuxford Waiver/IR is they have been cut but can rejoin the team when they’re healed and no else picks them up and regular IR means they still hold a roster spot but isn’t available to play until cleared. Hope that clears it up for you.
When you waive/injured you can add the player to a IR spot at a lesser salary (and cap number) than if you just put them on IR. However, they can be claimed when they are w/i.
Otherwise their full cap amount goes against the cap for the season.
Thanks, gents!
