A sign reinforces concerns as locals prepare for Tropical Storm Issac in Metairie, Louisiana, August 27, 2012. On its current track, Isaac was due to slam into the Gulf Coast anywhere between Florida and Louisiana by Tuesday night or early Wednesday, the seventh anniversary of Katrina hitting New Orleans, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said. Making cuts is about the least of the Saints’ concerns today, as they try to figure out if they’re in the path of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Players had been given Monday off to make plans with their families for evacuating from the storm area, but now will take off a day early so they’re sure they can get out, according to Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

The Saints will fly to Cincinnati tonight , and will practice there Tuesday and have a walk-through Wednesday morning before heading to Nashville Wednesday afternoon. They play the Titans Thursday night.

The hope is that when that game’s over, they have a safe place to return to.
