Steelers claim former Jags running back

AP

At a time when plenty of Steelers fans would like to see their favorite team trade for Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, they’ll have to settle for another guy who recently toted the ball while wearing teal.

The Steelers have claimed running back DuJuan Harris on waivers from the Jags.  The Steelers announced the move today.

Harris generated 42 yards on nine carries last season.  He also returned 14 kickoffs.

He becomes the seventh running back on the roster, joining Rashard Mendenhall, Ike Redman, Jonathan Dwyer, Baron Batch, Chris Rainey, and Jason Ford.

So, basically, it won’t be easy for Harris to stick around four days from now, when the rosters drop from 75 to 53.

  1. Bah hah they can’t get Drew because they can’t afford Drew

Kinda like the Ravens and Flake-o….how’s that contract situation shaping up?

  2. MJD is an exceptional talent and deserves the money he’s asking for given the beating he’s taken as the only legitimate skill player in Jacksonville. The problem is the game has changed. It’s a passing league now, and no running back is worth the amount MJD is asking, even if it’s deserved.

I dont think the ravens know fire sure they really wanty him as their qb. Hasnt really won anything major since he has been the qb. Yea, a few afc north titles, but the steelers have tons habe those, and oh yea, 6 of those other things that the ravens cant seem to get

  4. Mike Wallace for MJD straight up.

    fair trade thumbs up
    not fair. thumbs down

i know it’s highly unlikely, but just for fun.

  5. This morning I thought of a way for MHWho to make some mo $. See if he can rush the passer! There is where we have a real need! A running back who can get wide and catch a pass…..we got that covered!
