I think Tebow is actually the Jets’ Rock Cartwright….
The Raiders used him as the protector with a direct snap play a few times.
Maybe Jackson will be the Bills’ Cartwright?

A few things…

1: Tavaris Jackson is not all that athletic. He never was. He has a good arm but his brain power is on par with Vince Young, leading to bad decisions on the field.

2: Tavaris Jackson cannot read defenses and teams have no respect for his passing abilities. If he steps in at QB, the Bills offense will be unable to throw again defenses that are sporting 8-9 guys in the box on every play.

3: Tyler Thigpen is a better passer an more athletic QB than Tavaris Jackson.

@ Rubberrinnertube: T-Jax is still in the league. That’s more than you can say for a lot of has been QB’s. Chilly wasn’t that bad either. They were an up and coming playoff team until the Favre Circus came to town. He gets a bad rap for his ice cold image.

I’m sorry, but if these schools are going make millions off kids, who really aren’t college students, and pass them along in classes they should pay them like hired pro athletes and not act like they’re student athletes. I’m convinced Jamarcuss Russell had similar retention problems.

Young is one of the lucky ones. He made it to the pros and got paid. Most of these athletes end up back in they’re old neighborhood with no education, no skill and no money.

Quit whining. The guy just made $350K in 4 months. Consider him paid. If he didn’t take advantage of the opportunities available to him he wouldn’t be the first, nor will he be the last, football player or not.

There’s been a lot of fan speculation about Vince Young being snatched up by the Cardinals. At first I didn’t think much of it, even with their current QB crisis. But then I remembered it was the Cardinals who VY victimized with that jaw-dropping 99-yard game winning drive a few years ago. Something tells me that made an impression on Whisenhunt & Co. How could it not?

So Jackson may not necessarily be the backup quarterback in Buffalo; he could become the Bills’ answer to Tim Tebow, with new quarterbacks coach David Lee devising a package for Jackson, who if nothing else could possibly be a better scout-team option for the Tebow offense as the Bills prepare to face the Jets.

That’s just dumb. If they want to prepare for Tebow, play the run and make him throw the ball. He may get a few good plays but history says he is a run threat…especially on 3rd down.

Gailey loves Brad Smith and he is way to valuable to let go. Smith plays QB, WR and ST/KR, jack of all trades. If anything it will be Thigpen heading towards the door after Jackson becomes comfortable with Chan’s complicated Offense. Fitzpatrick is a pretty tough and reliable player, so hopefully we will never see Jackson have to take the field. If we do see Jackson on the field, It will be because Fitzpatrick couldn’t get the job done correctly.

The guy might not be able to learn the playbook but he’s a heck of a playground QB. You can’t tell me if the Cardinals put Young in and let him wing it with Fitzgerald they wouldn’t have something special for at least one season.
