Aaron Rodgers not immune from Packers locker room hijinks

NFL locker rooms are equitable places.

No one is immune to the occasional prank.

Yesterday, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was holding court with the media, after they were told he only had a few minutes.

Instead, they only got a few questions in, as Rodgers got a face-full of shaving cream, according to Jason Wilde of

“I think you have to start looking toward next week to be honest with you,” Rodgers said. “This week is really for the young guys, we’ve got 75 guys and we have to cut 22 to get down to our beginning-of-the-season roster, so a lot of jobs are up for grabs for those guys.

“I think for the 1s, we kind of want to get in, get out and not have anybody …”

Hit in the face with a pie, apparently, because that’s when fullback John Kuhn swooped in and nailed Rodgers in the face with a towel full of shaving cream.

Wilde has the video, and noted that Rodgers “did seem somewhat perturbed by it,” as he quickly retreated.

Guessing that if Kuhn doesn’t know how Rodgers feels, he will soon. Even if it’s all in good fun, you have to take care of the quarterback.

It’s the most common, jokingly used prank in the books, and it’s used all over sports. Not worth getting upset over something like that.

    Prince Amukamara is not amused.

IMO Rodgers is a guy that would be the victim of a LOT of pranks. He seems pretty laid back so it’s unlikely stuff like that is going to bother him.

Shaving cream in the eye stings like crazy — that’s probably why he ended the interview. Word has it he’s one of the busiest team pranksters, so he shouldn’t be peeved. And no this Viking fan is not going to hit the “cream” softball left dangling out there.

It’s all fun and games until your starting QB gets blinded in a freak shaving cream incident. Just ask Orlando Brown…or pray to him.

Geez, this guy makes it sound like his next stop is the IR due to shaving cream in the eyes. I like that Mr. Rodgers can handle taking a little bit of razing. I’m sure he will have his revenge….

    Note to John Kuhn:

Don’t ever do that again. People want to hear the MVP speak.

Kuhn “took care of the quarterback” — yes he did.

Maybe it was a hint from the rest of the team that they want him to shave off his hideously ugly beard.

Rodgers was irritated by the lack of originality.

“Hey guys, let’s get Rodgers….yeah….what should we do?…..How about something really off the wall like shaving cream in the face?……omfg, no…..that’s hilarious…..they’ll be talking about this for years…..hahaha….”.

I don’t think he was overly perturbed but it was pretty funny.

No one in the NFL takes a pie in the face better than Aaron Rodgers–his mechanics are simply unbelievable! No doubt he learned a lot by sitting behind Brett Favre for four years watching one of the all-time greats take pies in the face. And Rodgers is so generous–spreading the pie in the face around to bevy of talented receivers. Rodgers should win the MVPF (Most Valuable Pie Face) this year easily. And there’s no better place in the world to get a pie in the face than Lambeau Field! Any serious sports fan should travel to Green Bay and get a pie in the face before they die. Yes, when it comes to pie in the face, the Green Bay Packers are the greatest franchise ever!

The ol’gunslinger was King of Pranks as I recall.

That kind of thing could get John Kuhn released.

Off the top of a tall building.

I think one of the things that we’ve learned about Aaron Rodgers over the past few years is that he has a great sense of humor. I’m sure he wasn’t perturbed – he was immediately focused on planning his revenge.

He will, once the regular season starts jut as he has done every year sense he became the starter.

This will be the next reason they say they lost a playoff game. Not the fact they didn’t play hard.

Usually these antics are reserved for someone relatively new to the spotlight and has done something noteworthy to warrant the interview. It’s a baptism of sorts. This, however, was a little uncalled for, regardless how well Rodgers accepts it. I wouldn’t blame him if he was pissed off. You can bet Kuhn will get his at some point.

It’s all in fun but why not use whipped cream instead of something toxic?

  20. srcnsd says: Aug 28, 2012 1:46 PM

Rodgers is a total prankster. He has photobombed every team captain photo for every Packers game since he joined the team in 2006.

    Drew Brees wants an explanation.
