Davis has impressed me the way he’s moved the team during the pre-season. He’s a leader.

Redman is a leader but his arm is weaker than Ryan (and that’s saying something) to me couldn’t make the throws he needed to make.

The TD pass that Davis threw this past weekend in Miami was a thing of beauty. He deserves the shot at being the number two behind number 2.

Whenever I hear the name Redman in Football context, I think of Tom Brady. I believe Pioli was contemplating to pick either Redman or Brady in their 6th round pick (197). This one decision made one franchise to elite status and another to be what they were.

I actually thought Redman was one of the more serviceable backups around. McCown is a great person and an underrated athlete (though very fragile) but he has never shown that he can really play at an acceptable NFL level.

Good move Mike Smith. Redman has been awful the past few years. Dominique Davis has really shown he belongs on the team.
