Nicks will participate in “just a few plays” Wednesday night

Yep, receiver Hakeem Nicks will suit up and play on Wednesday night against the Patriots in the preseason finale.  But if you blink, you may miss him.

A source with knowledge of the situation says the plan is for Nicks to participate in “just a few plays” in the last preseason tune-up.

It almost makes no sense to use him, but the process of going through warm-ups and otherwise preparing to play will make it easier for him come the following Wednesday, when the Cowboys come to town.

With defenses hoping to take away Victor Cruz, Nicks will have plenty of opportunities to make noise — like he did in the 2011 playoffs.  But Nicks first needs to have overcome a broken foot that has knocked him out of action for the past few months.

Don’t even throw him the ball. Just let him run his little routes and pretend the ball is thrown.

The only play I want him in on Wednesday is the coin toss.
