Getty ImagesThe Cardinals have yet to announce their starting quarterback to start the season, who eventually and inevitably will be the first guy to get benched.
Craig Morgan of FOX Sports Arizona explained on Wednesday’s PFT Live that a decision is most likely coming on Friday, a day after the Cardinals’ preseason finale.
Morgan thinks that Kevin Kolb has the edge; the fact that it’s even close underscores the mistake that the Cardinals made by trading for and then paying Kolb.
Other issues discussed with Morgan included the effort to shore up the offensive line given the loss of left tackle Levi Brown for the season, whether coach Ken Whisenhunt or G.M. Rod Graves (or both) are on the hot seat, whether rookie receiver Michael Floyd will contribute this season, and whether receiver Larry Fitzgerald secretly regrets signing his long-term extension last year at this time.

Let me just get this all over with. As a Cards fan, I already know where this is headed.
#1) The Eagle sure fleeced the Cards with that trade.
#2) Cards should fire Whiz and Graves
#3) Fitz should have got out of there
#4) Blah Blah Blah
#5) Did I mention Blah Blah Blah?
Why would Fitzgerald regret anything? He was the co-GM who pushed for Kolb in the first place.
They will probably just name Matt Barkley as their starter for next year because they don’t have anyone worth starting this year
and the decision issss- punt on third down.
probably kolb even though he didn’t earn it. when he fails the job goes to Skelton and kolb is released next year
Inside Whiz’s brain:
Can’t let Skelton play Thursday against Broncos. Might throw for 300 yards and 3 TD’s.
Then, how do I explain convincing the boss to spend $60 million on Kolb?
AHA! Don’t let either play Thursday, and base the decision on PRACTICE.
Job saved. (Phone rings in background). Hello? Yes, Mr. Bidwill?
They are waiting to see what Vet gets cut from Miami and other teams lol
Poor Fitz… such a beast and he is just being wasted there.
I’m honestly shocked that it’s been 2 days since the Bills released Vince Young and Whisenherp hasn’t signed him yet.
Oh, where for art thou, Kurt?
Dream Trade VIKES give # 1 & 2 for Fritz and Fritz gets to go home
Might as well start Kolb. They gave him all that $ and he at least has a little mobility, which they are sure gonna need with that Oline!
“Hey Kurt, Whiz here…. Okay man $50 mil with 45 of it coming under the table. Please save me Kurt”
Colt McCoy? And you’re not the only one SHOCKED that Vince Young hasn’t been signed yet.
