The Cardinals have yet to announce their starting quarterback to start the season, who eventually and inevitably will be the first guy to get benched.

Craig Morgan of FOX Sports Arizona explained on Wednesday’s PFT Live that a decision is most likely coming on Friday, a day after the Cardinals’ preseason finale.

Morgan thinks that Kevin Kolb has the edge; the fact that it’s even close underscores the mistake that the Cardinals made by trading for and then paying Kolb.

Other issues discussed with Morgan included the effort to shore up the offensive line given the loss of left tackle Levi Brown for the season, whether coach Ken Whisenhunt or G.M. Rod Graves (or both) are on the hot seat, whether rookie receiver Michael Floyd will contribute this season, and whether receiver Larry Fitzgerald secretly regrets signing his long-term extension last year at this time.
