What sports media have you been watching? All the media does is hate on this guy. He has the #2 all time passer rating and you blame the cowboys shortcomings on him? I never knew Romo played defense. Learn football first before you comment.

Tony Romo hasn’t won multiple Super Bowls?

From the way sports media gushes over him, you’d think Romo has already guided that team to a couple of Super Bowl wins.

I want him on my fantasy team, but I wouldn’t want him on my real team at winning time.

As for Jimmy Johnson, he knows football and is a brilliant mind period. However, I remember him picking the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl; then seeing him take over that team when Miami failed to meet the expectations he in part helped create. Perhaps there’s an ulterior motive there.

To be great in the NFC East you have to be unstoppable in stretches. Dallas could be that, with Dez Bryant and Marco Coleman at RB.

I don’t think they’re playing consistently enough to be unstoppable, however. Romo takes part of the blame and part of the credit here.

It takes the whole team to get to the big one.

I’m a Giants fan, and a Colts fan mostly. But…

I actually think Romo is a great QB. Yeah, he embarassed himself, but he got back up, and kept gunning. Takes a tough person to do that.

However, he plays in probably the toughest division in the NFL in terms of pass-rushing and his defense was brutal on 3rd down over the last few years.

I don’t think he’s going to be winning any Superbowls so long as he’s in such a tough division.

That means less opportunities for him, and much more pressure from defenses.

Jerry Jones is the joke of the NFL. I guess he has the money so he can run his team his way, but the NFL should step in and make him invisible because what he does is bad for football. Jerry knows as much about football as his left shoe know about flying. He makes the NFL a joke to play on the Cow Boys.

The Cow Boys aren’t anyones team, but Texas maybe, and now Texas is split because Huston is much better than them. Romo sucks, the Cow Boys suck, and Texas sucks too. Romo is a great QB between the 20s. You get him into the red zone and nothing happens. Don’t know if it’s him, the coaches, or the surrounding players or a combination but the team seems to choke down there everytime.

I think Tony Romo is the only QB in the league that receives this type of “praise”. One could argue maybe Mike Vick; but you never see these types of posts about anyone else.

If Romo is so great (and I get it, you need good players surrounding a good QB to do anything great in this league), why does he fail to do anything with his greatness year in and year out. Nobody really takes him seriously.

And the Cowboys suck.

dear JJ; you must have your coif to tight.tony the turnover is a great stats qb, but when the chips are down, he folds up like a cheap tent. talk is cheap and proof is in the playoff W’s. i can see him being traded after a 7-9 season this year.what the boys really need is an actual GM.

I think it is pretty clear that in the regular season Romo is consistently a top 10 QB but until I see more out of him in the playoffs I will have to reserve judgement on if he is great. But he is good enough to win a SB on a great team, or even just a good one.
And as a Cowboys fan, Cowboys have NOT been good for years…

Plus he still needs a coach to bring discipline to the team and the individual players. I’ve never been a fan of Garrett and Jerry sucks as a coach and GM. *(in my previous post “one” should have been “won”)*

TRuth! John Elway , as good as he was, finally won when he got Terrell Davis and a running game.

Aikman was a very average QB,who had a great D and running game and O line.

Romo is great. Has he made his mistakes, sure; some grave mistakes. That doesn’t define a career. He is some playoff wins away from being elite. Having said that… there are waaaay more great QBs than there are Super Bowl winning QBs. The team around the QB is just as responsible as the QB for achieving that ring.
