2 years ago I would’ve said that Cooley is overrated, didn’t deserve the $$ and was a liability being ‘fumble-prone.’ Now, it feels a bit personal and you never want to see the fan favorite longest tenured guy get the boot. But, we need to put that all aside and rememeber it’s a business. He at least deserves an opportunity to win a starting job and he wasn’t going to get that here. Good luck Captain Chaos.

@talonh: Kellen winslow mastered the seam route and most anything in the middle of the field, mark Bavaro showed a T.E. could block, release and catch and Joe Gibbs practically invented the H-back during his hey day. so don’t tell me, did you not read my posting as name? in fact Gibbs last H-back/tight end was Frank Wychek. but my point was and is Chris cooley was drafted and touted by one of the pioneers of that evolving position and he has exceeded at that position. there are plenty of teams that can use a Chris Cooley. you’ll see

Witten had a lacerated spleen, took a play off and went back in for a series. What did Cooley do when soft as tissue Nmadi laid him out? Thats right, he was gone for the year. For those saying the Cowboys didn’t improve in the offseason just look to our secondary. Drafted the best corner in the draft Mo Claiborne and signed the best available CB Brandon Carr. Oh… here is stat for you QB’s had a 54.9 QB rating when throwing at Carr. Do better Redskins fans!!

I can’t imagine Dallas bringing in Cooley. It doesn’t make much sense for them. They is no evidence to suggest that Cooley (for the money it would cost to bring him in) is any better than the much-cheaper John Phillips.

Plus, the team seems to like Penn State rookie TE Andrew Szczerba.

Also, Cooley commented that Romo chokes, and that he would like to fight him in a cage. It’s highly unlikely that Romo would want him on the team, and even less likely that he would throw to him, if he were.

Martellus Bennett had hands of concrete but he could block 290lb defensive ends.
I imagine that’s what he’ll be doing for NYG.

Cooley just barely qualifies as a TE in terms of physical ability.

Cooley will become a Cowboy cause he’s been a closet Cowboy fan for a long time. He’s made a video of Romo and Whitten. Cooley talks about the Boys since being a Redskin. He would love to wear the Star who wouldn’t. He’s 1 or 2 year stint with the Boys if he’s privilege would make up for his horrible Career as A Redskin. Being on Americas Team would increase his Jersey sale and his popularity would increase due to the fact he would be on national tv every week. Come on over Cooley, put on that jersey you always wanted to put on.
