Last time I checked the Giants have EIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS to the Steelers 6. Only the Packers and Bears have more. It took 40 years for the Steelers to win a title (with one playoff appearance in that time span) so I wouldn’t be mocking the Giants who won their first championship in 1927

The NFL historically classifies the NFL and AFL Championship Games with the NFC and AFC Championship Games. All you need to do to verify that is check the NFL Fact and Record Book.

By that account, the Giants and Steelers are tied with Championships – Steelers 8 AFC Championships, Giants 8 NFL/NFC Championships.

I personally like the Giants – but the NFL Championships that were won in the early days have nothing in common with what they were even in the 1960s – to say nothing of the Super Bowl.

Anyone else in here think that if the Giants had to play the Packers 5 times, Packers win all 5. They had an uncharacteristically bad game for them, it happens, you played well, won it all again, great. Don’t think that alone makes you a better team overall, you aint!

Funny to listen to all these Cowturd fans living in the past. The 90′s? Are you kidding? The league was much different then AND you had the refs on your side. As Giants fans we have much more fun winning and watching your little owner throw his rich man’s hissy fit. Hysterical!
Seagles are a valid threat this year – once Vick gets hurt it’s that back up QB that actually concerns me more than anyone.
Skins like to think they will do something but soon they’ll realize that RG’s next commercial shoot and his brand will be far more important to him. GMEN beat the refs and the favorites last year – this Big Blue train keeps a rollin’. Deal with it!

two superbowls in four years is by no means lucky. The Giants are a good stout football team with a just above average QB. Dallas may actually have more talent at most skill positions but QB is not one of them. the NFC East will be a hard fought division this year with every team making improvments from 2011. the cowboys however seemed to stand pat with that flying circus they fielded last year, and that’s just fine with me

What tiebrakers are needed when you win your division outright? last time i checked, best record won the division, without tiebreakers.

And all of this talk about the Cowboys owning the Giants? Since 96, the Cowboys have been nothing more than average, with a .500 record and 1 playoff win.

Why are all the cowboy fans and here trying to talk smack? For most of the people on here( including me) the cowboys haven’t done a thing since we watching and actually understood the game of football. If you go back 15 years what have the cowboys done in those 15 years? Not a dam thing…I am a eagles fan so I know I don’t have a lot of room to talk but within the NFC east over the last 15 years the only team that really has room to talk smack is giants fans because their team has had actual success in that time frame

Am I the only one who read (and understood) the words Kiwi said? Does anyone really think a 6-yr veteran is talking about the entire long and storied history of these two teams when he says,“He should. I mean, the Giants have been whupping his ass for a long time,”? I’m fairly confident he’s talking about the recent history. Going back to 2000, the Giants have a 15-9 record (16-9 if you include that playoff game) against the Cowboys. That’s a pretty good winning percentage. On another note, to say the Giants haven’t exactly been dominant between (or during Super Bowl years) isn’t entirely wrong, but did we forget they started the 2008 season 11-1 before Pla shot himself, then finished 12-4 before losing in their first playoff game. 2009 was 8-8, but 2010 they were 10-6, which is typically good enough to make the playoffs, so it’s not like they’ve had just those two solid years. Obviously I’m a Giant fan, but these are just facts.

You can’t take away the Giants Super Bowls, so they have the right to talk smack. That said, they haven’t exactly been dominating the league since 2007. They were only 1 game away from missing the playoffs last year and it was similar in 2007. Some of the other years the Giants have just looked awful to the point where Coughlin has been on the hotseat several times. The Giants have as much a chance to miss the playoffs as make them which is the case most years for them. The winner of the NFC East can make noise in the playoffs again though, as they will be battle tested.
