Falcons cut Dominique Franks, get to final 53-man roster


Cornerback Dominique Franks and long snapper Joe Zelenka highlighted the Falcons full list of cuts, which the team just announced.

Franks was a fifth-round pick in 2010, who had three picks in three seasons.

The Falcons also released fullback Mike Cox and placed safety Shann Schillinger on injured reserve, waived-injured wide receiver Kerry Meier and reached injury settlements with tight end Lamark Brown and guard Andrew Jackson.

They also waived the following players: linebacker Spencer Adkins, linebacker Rico Council, wide receiver Drew Davis, cornerback Dominique Franks, tackle Bryce Harris, linebacker Jerrell Harris, center Tyler Horn, wide receiver Marcus Jackson, cornerback Marty Markett, running back Dimitri Nance, defensive tackle Conrad Obi, defensive tackle Micanor Regis, wide receiver James Rodgers, linebacker Pat Schiller, cornerback Peyton Thompson, and safety Suaesi Tuimaunei.

    I can not believe they kept Chris Owen and waived Dominique Franks. Mike Smith has made another dumb decision like he did in the Saints game. Dominique Franks, Kerry Meier, and James Rodgers, WOW, ok Mike lets not have a repeat of last year. As a season ticket holder I want results. This move is not making you look to good right now.

    I really hope that move doesn’t come back and bite them. I think they should have kept him and only kept 2 qb’.
