The Jets have started making their cuts, with 19 of their 22 needed moves in the books, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

They have waived safety D’Anton Lynn (the son of running backs coach Anthony Lynn) and quarterback Matt Simms (son of former Giants quarterback Phil Simms).

Also released, per Mehta: Wide receivers Joseph Collins and Eron Riley, tight end Tarren Lloyd, offensive linemen Paul Cornick, Fred Koloto, and Matt Kroul, defensive linemen Jay Richardson, Damon Harrison and Martin Tevaseu, linebackers Ricky Sapp, Marcus Dowtin and Brett Roy (injury settlement) defensive backs Donnie Fletcher, LeQuan Lewis, Julian Posey, and Ryan Steed and punter Spencer Lanning.

Teams have until 9 p.m. to get to the 53-man regular season limit, and we’ll keep track of all today’s moves for you here.

So warm up your F5 finger, and stay with us all day.

I’d warm up my F5 finger but I need it to pick my nose.

I use my middle finger to hit F5. As an Eagles fan, I always have it warmed up.

Half these guys would be starters in buffaLOL. Shows how much depth the JETS truly have.

I remember Ricky Sapp being highly touted out of college not that long ago…

It looks like Tebow somehow made the final roster.

Regardless if your statement is true or not the sad fact is the Jets do not have a QB who could challenge Tavaris Jackson for 2nd string job in buffalo. It is doubtful the Jets have a Qb that could make Buffalo’s roster. No matter how good the rest of the Jets talent it gets driven down by their lack of a QB.

the jets have ABOUT 4 quality starters. the NFL would be better if they sat out this season

Real shame about Simms. He was making progress as a young QB with the Bucs until the hit that ruptured his spleen.

To the poster who made the Tebow comment–he’s definitely no second coming of Namath, may never be a regular starter even, but he would make 32 out of 32 NFL rosters.

The Jets have four quality starters? Do you even watch football? Holmes. Ferguson. Mangold. Cromartie. Revis. Pace and Harris would start on every team in this league. I’m not even counting Pouha, Slauson or Landry who start on more than half of them.

LOL, love all the Jets hate and the amount of idiots on this site. The jets with no quality starters, worst QB in the league, worst locker room in the history of sports, and biggest moron at head coach have made the AFC Championship game the first 2 years and had an AWFUL year last year going 8-8. Yeah… they are such a joke.
