The New England Patriots have trimmed their roster to 69 players with just under two hours left before Friday’s cut-down deadline. No roster will be quite set in stone even as the deadline passes, but they’ll be close. And the Pats are inching their way there.

We brought to you previously the Patriots’ big-name cuts: Wide receiver Deion Branch (here), and quarterback Brian Hoyer and center Dan Koppen (here).

Here are more cuts, with some help from Greg Bedard and Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe:

Safety James Ihedigbo, safety Derrick Martin, safety Sergio Brown, tackle Darrion Weems, fullback Eric Kettani, tackle Derek Dennis, and defensive end Aaron Lavarias.

On a long Friday, the Patriots have 16 more cuts to go.

UPDATE: Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston reports undrafted rookie guard Jeremiah Warren is also among Friday’s final cuts. So the Pats are now down to 68.
