APThe Saints settled their kicking competition, by cutting the single-season record holder in points scored.
According to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Saints cut John Kasay, giving the job back to Garrett Hartley.
Kasay filled in for an injured Hartley and had a banner year, with a franchise-record 147 points.
But Hartley recovered well from last year’s hip injury, leading the Saints to part ways with the 42-year-old Kasay.
Kasay’s old team, the Panthers, might be considered a likely landing spot, but they seem set on keeping young Justin Medlock.

He will BR back in Nola by game 6.
Kasey is a good guy. Thanks for coming out of retirement for the Saints. Sorry they could not get you that Super Bowl ring last year, maybe you will still qualify for one being that you played for them during the pre-season of another Super Bowl year.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Saints hire him as a kicking consultant..
Kasey killed it last year. Someone should pick him up if he still wants to kick.
Good grief!! What has Adam Sandler done with the real John Kasay?
Here’s your bonus. Don’t leave town just yet.
Can we get some stories about non cheating teams? Thanks!
I mean, the Saints will end up last in their own division.
Pathetic.
What’s with the awkward photo’s you guys always seem to find?
Wish he could come home to Carolina.
