I find it interesting that one of the recurring themes during Hard Knocks and in the Dolphins training camp in general regarding their wide receivers was a supposed inability by any of them to create separation from defenders.

Isn’t that all this kid did? And then when they threw it to him because he was always open, didn’t he always catch it?

Maybe it’s his route running, but this kid blew Nanee out of the water in camp.

-He wasn’t thinking…because when he thinks he is mentally disabled…he is deferring to Philbin, hopefully. Who was the probowler you speak of? CJ? Bell? Fins received a 2nd round pick for Davis, which I am sure will be used for a WR…and if they land a Bowe or Wallace type it will prove to be beneficial.

The fact that Hogan is a story indicates the low level of Dolphin WR play! Hogan could get open when no one else could! How long before we ask Leganu Nanaee to become a DB too?

I reviewed the parctice squad signing and roster cuts from all of the NFL teams. Everyone dangling out there was a long shot. Ireland did as good as our #8 picking slot would allow us to do. The Colts snagged one DB we would probably have looked at. I didn’t see anyone lingering out there that intrigued me! What was Ireland thinking when he let a Probowler and a starting CB go without having replacements on the roster?

Our talent level is such that the old adage comes to mind, “Garbage in – garbage out!” Go Dolphins!

Chad Johnson did pretty well in Cincinnati not knowing coverages, routes, or even where to line up. (ask housh) Browns size, speed, and hands make him a valuable commodity as a WR…You find a way to make room for athletes like that on your roster…at least practice team. I am looking forward to signing branch or trading for a decent deep threat in the next few days. Fasano is my problem…he can’t catch…make him a #2 TE and Clay #1…or check out Winslow and/or Cooley possibly. Luckily the West Coast offense is based on possession recievers, because that’s all we have in bess and hartline.
Also, Redskins have no WR?! Morgan, Moss, Garcon, and Banks who is their return specialist…They didn’t want to pay a 5 year vet to be a #4 when they have younger guys waiting in the wings. Armstrong will help no doubt.

Epic Fail.
First, that was Les Brown, not Chris Hogan.

Second, Les Brown hadn’t played football in 6 years before signing with the Dolphins, and you want him to learn all the intricacies of being a wide receiver (reading coverages, running routes, etc.) despite having no experience in college or high school?

Hogan only looked good because he plays for Miami. Their number one receiver this year will probably be Anthony Armstrong, who couldn’t make the top 6 WR’s in Washington. The skins don’t have very good receivers, but Armstrong couldn’t make the team. What does that say about how pathetic the Dolphins have become?

Maybe it’s time to realize Hard Knocks does an amazing job at taking a hand full of choice moments and making someone look like they have much more potential because of production. Kid has potential but 31 other teams don’t usually mistake someone that the rest of us have labeled a keeper.

It’s a very deep league and one thing we all can agree on is that the Fins have a below average WR core league compared so what makes anyone think that someone cut from that core would be good enough for someone else?

Common sense says he’s a TV star that has room to grow but not worth a spot on a 53 just yet.
