With right tackle Rashad Butler lost for the year, the Texans needed some veteran depth behind new starter Derek Newton.
They got that depth on Sunday, officially adding veteran Ryan Harris.
Cut Friday by the Broncos, Harris will become reacquainted with the zone-blocking system the Broncos used when he joined the team via the third round of the 2007 draft.
Harris spent four seasons with the Broncos before joining the Eagles in free agency last year. He was released with an injury settlement, and he didn’t play in 2011.
Harris re-joined the Broncos earlier this year, but he didn’t make it onto the 53-man roster. He’s now on the 53-man roster in Houston.
