The Bills are 1-5 vs. the Jets in the Ryan era. The one win came in a game where Sanchez was a rookie and threw 5 INT’s and they still only won by 3 points.

Did the Bills improve? Of course they did, but so did the Jets. If anything this should be a low scoring, close defensive game. All the predictions of a blowout are based on media hype.

Too bad that isn’t what happened. The Broncos schedule got much easier. Orton was and is the far, far, FAR better QB. The Broncos won DESPITE having Tebow at QB, not because of it.

There would have been more teams that flustered Tebow, but he only played 10 teams, so naturally the list isn’t any longer than that.

Im not so sure anyone needed to spend anytime preparing for Tebow. Seriously, its Tebow.

You must be assuming a ton of defensive and special teams points from the Bills because there’s no way Fitzpatrick can put up 34 against the Jets defense.

Fitzpatrick won’t have to do much.. 17 wins!! By 4:15 Sunday I expect to hear so many excuses about why the Jets lost!!! CANT WAIT!!

And, unlike Cam, RG III and others, Tebow is allowed to be a running QB instead of a QB who runs all because of those who are ademently shoving him down our throats, the media.

Here is the realistic scenario for the Jets (and yes, I am a life-long, long suffering Jets fan)… The Jets are going to have to win a LOT of close games (outstanding defense, questionable offense) to make the playoffs. The season-opener will probably be a very strong predictor of the rest of the season (unlike the preseason where I believe the AFC East team record and points scored was simply pathetic).

If the Jets win BIG, they are likely to go to the playoffs and the Bills will be playing golf early. If the Bills win BIG then the Bills are likely playoff bound and thumbs down for the Jets.

IMO, most likely outcome (the game is a home game remember for the Jets) is Jets 13 Bills 10. And candidly if I am right, that will prove absolutely NOTHING, and we will have to wait for weeks 2 – 17 to see what happens!

anyway, i like the jets in this game. their offense wont be as bad as the media says it is and their defense will be among the toughest in the league. i just dont see fitzpatrick doing enough to win.

Yes, that right. He’s not an accurate passer. So what? It didn’t stop him from taking a moribund, utterly hapless 1-4 Broncos team and going 8-5 the rest of the way. Why? Because the things Tebow does to improve the running game–not only as a runner out of the backfield but also as a decoy–are significant. Or do you suppose it’s a coincidence that the Broncos led the league in rushing with Willis McGehee as their lead back?
Moreover, when Tebow does complete a pass, it tends to be a big-gainer. He was tied for third in the league in yards per completion, and that helps to offset his completion percentage somewhat.

Au contraire — when was the last time you saw someone miss the intended receiver by 10 yards – to the left?

Meanwhile The Patriots and Bills beat Tebow’s Broncos by a combined score of 126 to 47.
