No indication whether Houston and Delmas will be ready for Rams

No one knows whether the Lions are going to have a full secondary Sunday against the Rams.

At least not anyone who’s saying anything.

Cornerback Chris Houston and safety Louis Delmas worked on the side with trainers Monday, and coach Jim Schwartz offered few clues if that was a good sign or a bad sign.

We’re in regular-season mode now,” Schwartz said, via Chris McCosky of the Detroit News. “We will have an injury report [on Wednesday]. We will get those guys back as soon as we can.”

Delmas has been out all preseason after knee surgery, and Houston’s dealing with an ankle problem. Neither talked to reporters Monday, with Houston politely declining when asked.

John Wendling’s gotten all the preseason work in Delmas spot, but Houston could create a revolving door.

Just-signed veteran Drayton Florence took snaps with the starters just in case, along with Kevin Barnes, Bill Bentley and Jacob Lacey.

The Lions did get running back Kevin Smith and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch on the practice field, a solid indication they’ll be able to face the Rams.
