Jerry Jones has 2.1 billion reasons to be glad he owns the Cowboys.

According to Forbes, the Cowboys are worth $2.1 billion, the most of any American sports franchise and second only to English soccer team Manchester United among all sports franchises in the world. The magazine estimates that the Cowboys generated $500 million in total revenue last season. Not bad for Jones, who bought the Cowboys for $140 million in 1989.

Forbes estimates the Patriots to be the second-most valuable franchise, worth $1.64 billion, followed by the Redskins ($1.6 billion), Giants ($1.47 billion) and Texans ($1.31 billion).

According to Forbes, 20 of the NFL’s 32 franchises are worth at least $1 billion. The least valuable franchise is Jacksonville, worth $770 million.
