Another great draft class by the Tannebaum and the Jets.
Class 2010
Rd #1-Kyle Wilson
Rd#2-Vlad DuCasse
Rd#4-Joe Mc(Puke)Knight
_____

this year's draft is very promising if you haven't watched this pre season. coples, hill, davis, bush, allen. all going to possibly start within the next two-three years. with two already going to start this year.

Have the Jets had a good draft since Mangini left?

The Jets have graded out near the top of the NFl in draft the last 5 years. Lets take a look at their successes.
2011
1 Muhammad Wilkerson A Monster compared to Seymour.
3 Kenrick Ellis Had a great camp and appears to be a steal.
4 Bilal Powell After a rough rookie year had a great camp and moved in as the number 2.
5 Jeremy Kerley Another steal. Possibly their long time answer as the slot receiver.
7 Greg McElroy Arguably the best Qb on the roster.

2010 only had 4 picks.

I agree that McKnight has some mental issues and likely is not a long term answer. But they dfound a way for him to be productive and make the pro bowl last year.

Wilson has been serviceable. Ducasse is a bust and O'Connor has been a nice 5th round pick.

2009 3 Picks

Sanchez a bust. Greene for a third round pick has contributed quite a bit especially in the 09 playoffs and Saluson was an exceptional 6th round pick.

2008
The Jets picked Ghouslton against the advice of the FO, against the advice of Clinckscale, against the advice of Bradway all because Mangini had to have him. But that has been the case with two other picks Mangini adamantly desired picks in Clemens and Schlegal.

Keller and Dwight Lowery were fine picks.

2007

Trading up for Revis and harris were both brilliant especially in what was considered the weakest draft in modern memory.

2006 Overall a good draft but arguably one of the worst managed drafts ever.

Two solid picks in the 1st round. But reaching for Clemens two rounds early, reaching for Schlegal and Smith in the third round when both could have been had in the 5th and 7th round.

The picks of Smith and Washington helped balance it out. But with 10 picks the Jets came out lacking not because of the scouting report but because of reaching for players far to early.

The highlight of the draft might have been trading back 5 spots in the third round to pick up an extra 6th only to see the Eagles take the LB the Jets coveted.

Mangini was simply a fool.

The Jets drafts have been good. Yes Kyle Wilson is only serviceable and Ghoulston was a huge Mangini bust but overall they continue to stockpile talent. Wilkerson and Ellis were huge picks last year and Couples seems on the way to being a force as well.
