Witten’s fine, but he likely won’t play

images-1 Getty Images

As the Cowboys continue guard the results of tight end Jason Witten’s CT scan like it’s the crop report, indications remain that, while fine, Witten won’t play on Wednesday night.

That was the verdict last night from a league source with knowledge of the situation.

The strongest indication of the slamming of the door would come if Witten didn’t make the trip to New York with his teammates.  But if he didn’t make the trek, he hasn’t been scratched, yet.  Road teams with players listed as questionable or doubtful routinely are downgraded to out, when those players aren’t on the plane.

As Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram pointed out during a Tuesday visit to PFT Live, owner Jerry Jones has said that Witten has been cleared to play in Week Two, when the Cowboys travel to Seattle.

And that gives me an obvious opening to paste the code for Hill’s comprehensive look at the Cowboys as the opening of the season approaches.

Maybe it’s a “Game Time” decision.

Maybe you won’t know until “Game Time”…

Jason Witten is a classless wife beting bum. I do not care if the Cowboys or the Giants win just as long as both teams suffer several injuries.

Eagles = Super Bowl 47 Champions

25 days without an arrest is the real news so far today.

I guess I shouldn’t expect much more out of an Eagles fan.

Oh, and Jason Witten actually runs a charity for battered women, as his mother was abused when he was a child and is actually married to his high school sweet heart….so no…he is not a classless
wife beating bum….actually further from the truth.

On another note, I’m pretty sure Jason Witten made the trip to NY before everyone else, because of the timing issue. At least that’s what they was saying on the major dallas radio station

    @bathroombenlovemachine

That’s a joke right? Anything but a wife beater is Jason Witten. Look into his history with domestic abuse charities you stupid goof.

  7. succulentnipples says: Sep 5, 2012 8:15 AM

The cowboys could use Tim Tebow.

  8. djstat says: Sep 5, 2012 8:16 AM

Per congressional vote: Eagles fans are not allowed to predict a super bowl championship for their team until the Eagles actually win a Super Bowl.

  9. cowboysspurs88 says: Sep 5, 2012 8:24 AM

Umm Jason Witten has never been accused with any crime in his life so how could you libel his name by calling him a wife beater? He’s one of the classiest guys in the NFL unlike your QB Eagles fan.

And that’s why nobody likes eagles fans. Don’t have a clue what’s going on.

In other news, the Dallas Cowgirls lose to the Giants on opening night with or without Witten.

Nothing to see here, move along..

  12. billinva says: Sep 5, 2012 9:03 AM

Does it matter? The Cowgirls are going to lose anyways.

I can’t wait to hear what Jerrah will have to say about that.

Rest him,I guarantee the Cowboys 2nd string TE is better than that bust the Giants have starting at TE

bathroombenlovemachine – Please tell me you are sterile, or at least never want to have kids. Jason Witten never beat any woman. In fact, he is a great leader (not to mention a big donor of time and money) for agencies against domestic abuse. Jason Witten is one of the best guys off the field in the NFL.

He did spend that time in jail for torturing and killing animals and running an illegal fighting ring….wait a minute, that wasn’t Jason Witten. Now who the heck was that…

    ben, ben, ben, ben, ben.

Dude, your coach has a family full of junkies. Your QB is a convicted felon. And, of course, your old stadium had a jail and a makeshift courtroom in it to expedite dealing with all the drunken criminals who attended games there.

Earth to ben, Earth to ben. Come in ben.

Sorry, there seems to be no response.

I am tired of hearing that the Cowgirls is America’s team. I can think of alot more teams that would be considered America’s team in this day and age.
    Jenny Jones get a clue.

Are you that young to not know what the video was? Or do you have such a terrible taste in movies that you’ve never seen it?

Or are you just a big enough idiot that you don’t bother to understand what was linked in the single part that you have an issue with?

Eagles fans are just as rabid about their team as Cowboy fans… No problem with that. We love our sport and we love our teams . “bathroombenlovemachine” with one post, proved he’s not only a troll, but also a waste of the precious air that the rest of us breathe, and if he truly is an Eagles fan, then other Eagle’s fans should be embarrassed and should be giving him the smack down. He’s a disgrace to their fan community.

  24. lostal21 says: Sep 5, 2012 1:20 PM

Honestly, I hope Witten stays out till the Seattle game – more days to heal.

As for the Cowboys wining or losing to the Giants, will probably lose a close one.

But it is very obvious to every Cowboy Fan that the reason they are not better is the GM. One stupid decision after the other. While is is among the top 5 Marketers in the country (beats Donald Trump) he is cursed with a true lack of football knowledge. The players he falls in love with are always average to terrible… Quincy, Felix, and a host of others. And his new Head Coach, while a very smart man, is still in the learning process. He will need another 5 years to truly hone his skills. Cowboys can’t wait!
