Yeah. Then there was the whole player lockout thing in the 2011 offseason, at which point all compassion for their bodies went out the window for me, regardless of reason. I concluded that football is a game, it’s entertainment, and I pay them way too much money to both watch it and care if they get injured temporarily, for life, become paralyzed, or even dead. That’s the risk that they choose to take; I pay them handsomely to take it; and this evens out the scales.
Not that I want to see any of them wind up dead, mind you. Of course I don’t; but I won’t lose sleep over it if or when somebody does.
