We’re less than 48 hours away from the first Sunday of the season and Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports Network will get you ready for Week One on Friday.

Cardinals quarterback John Skelton will visit with Mike Florio and Erik Kuselias on the program, which starts at 5 p.m. ET. We’d say that Skelton won a battle to become the starting quarterback of the Cardinals, but it was really more a case of surviving a war of attrition. We’ll hear how the process impacted him this summer and get more on his thoughts about the Cardinals’ chances of challenging for the NFC West title.

Florio and Kuselias will also be joined by Peter King, Hines Ward and Doug Flutie as they look forward to the first weekend of the NFL season. Every corner of the league is up for discussion, but you can be sure that Friday’s ruling in the bounty appeal will be on the table.

Again, it all starts at 5 p.m. ET on the NBC Sports Network.

Besides my teams QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick, John Skelton is a player I’m hoping will succeed this year. I’d like to see him bring the Cardinals to the playoffs and prove all the doubters wrong.

I’m a Seahahwks fan and yet I hope Skelton does a great job. The better the rest of the teams are in the NFC West, the better the Seahawks will be. I hope the Cards go 14-2.

He has two tackles starting on Sunday that have never started a game at that position. He’s going to be lucky to make it through the game.
