We (FANS of any team) will include ouselves with the teams we support whenever and however we want. We don’t have to play on the field, we support them by paying for tickets to the stadiums, purchasing gear to wear, and buying products from the commercials when we watch on TV , so if we say WE, US or OUR it’s our right and if it bothers you so much don’t read it!

@mikeinsanfran
....BTW – Kaepernick runs this with LaMichael James next to him. You may have wanted to mention that since LaMike is probably one of the best Read Option running backs in college history to go with Kaepernick who statistically was the best read option QB in college history......

Apparently you were too young to remember Nebraskas of the 80s and Tom Osburne!!! Bc if you did you would have made that stupid comment!

Far more worried about the 49er defense and Vernon Davis than I am about any special K play. McCarthy isn't exactly lacking in the offensive wrinkles department either, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has something new for the 9ers, especially involving Randall Cobb. I wish the Pack was opening against one of the teams the other NFC North guys get on Sunday, but this should be quite a game.

Dbones 750 you are a moron!!! To compare Tim tebow to kap is apples and oranges. Kap can throw unlike tebow. He has a top 5 ARM as far as ARM str.ength and keeps developing his accuracy and overall ability as he matures in the league. Next year or 2 when he becomes the starter the league better watch out cuz the kid will be a great throwing QB with the ability to run and run well (hence the 78yd TD run in preseason) And with the rest of the offense only getting better and the best defense the niners will win a ring within the next 5 years. COUNT ON IT!!!

Man!!! There are WAY too many fans on here calling an NFL team, “we,” “us,” saying “our defense.” Do you play on the team? If not, knock it off, “you” are irritating. If you like my car and are a fan of my car, do you say to people, “Look at our car, isn’t it cool? We love to drive it. We need to wash and wax it today.” I don’t see you chipping in for gas money!
----
This must be your first brush with packer fans. They are notorious for including themselves with team actions. Pssst...spoiler alert...some of them even bought "stock" which they believe gives them the ability to call themselves partial team owners.

The entertaining part of this game will be watching the Packers offense against the 49ers defense — two of the best units in the NFL. However, it will probably be more entertaining to watch reruns of Who’s The Boss than watch the lousy Pack defense go up against the mediocre 49ers offense.
___________________________________

1) The Packers D will be vastly improved this year...and they led the league in turnover ratio in 2011. The only reason they got that far down in the rankings in points against and in yards given up was because the offense could hardly be stopped and the D was on the field 75% of the time.
2) For a guy whose team may be sitting with a big goose egg in the win column by year's end, I would expect you to turn on some old reruns rather than watch what maybe the best game all year. It's not like you have a clue at what good football looks like anyway. Let's rehash this bad defense talk come April, when your boys are drafting in the top 3 or 4 picks for some help. Congrats on finally getting indoor plumbing and a satellite dish to work over there too....crowning achievements.

For those of you complaining about definitions, let me remind you that "Wildcat" is nothing more than a limited number of plays of the "Single Wing" offense that were run back in the 30's and 40's.

Yes, some purist cringe when the deep back is not called the fullback because he is fully back and the up back is not called the "halfback".

Everything has been done on a football field before. Just because some coach calls it something else and blog writers are dumb enough to call it new or innovative doesn't mean it hasn't been done before.

Tattoo boy (Kaepernick) is just another young QB who hasn't been injured yet in the NFL. Thus he thinks he can run. Tattoo boy, if he ever gets into a meaningful game, will learn soon enough. So far he hasn't shown more than Jim Druckenmiller ever did.

Can we just call it what it is: “The Read Option”. I’m sick of the stupid name “wildcat”.

COMPROMISE: Let's call it The Read Option for almost everyone in the NFL, and the Can't Read Option for those who recently went to North Carolina and "attended classes" with Julius Peppers and his cohorts. Just calling it what it is like mikeinsanfran!

So let me get this straight... Because Kaepernick is a QB who can run we're automatically going to run the "wildcat"?

Have you forgotten Alex Smith can run also? Does this mean we're running the wildcat full-time?

I guess since Aaron Rodgers average 4.3 yards per carry last season the Packers will be running the wildcat also.

Look out Packers & Niner fans. Michael has shown us whats this matchup on Sunday will really be. Wildcat vs. Wildcat.

Come to thing of it, all those other teams with a mobile QB will be running the Wildcat also. The highlights are going to be very boring this weekend.

quote: "The entertaining part of this game will be watching the Packers offense against the 49ers defense — two of the best units in the NFL."

Sadly, the 49ers defense is a stop the run first defense (in a dominant passing league). If you look at our secondary, we were in the middle of the pack. We are a swarm to the ball type of defense and usually don't get burned deep, but the Packers will score on us, we have to score back!

BTW - Kaepernick runs this with LaMichael James next to him. You may have wanted to mention that since LaMike is probably one of the best Read Option running backs in college history to go with Kaepernick who statistically was the best read option QB in college history.

Dear dbones750: Every team has 2 QBs, where in this article does it state that the 9ers said they are starting two QBs. Your little cliche only applies for teams that use two starting QBs (ie Florida Gators with Tebow and Leak.)

This is GB preparing for the possibility of a back up QB coming in for a handful of gimmick plays. It doesn't mean that Alex Smith isn't THE QB for the team, it just means that he'll be facing a defense that is less prepared for the basic offense than other teams b/c of the threat of the gimmick. (That's a good thing)
