Health, not suspension could keep Scott Fujita off the field

Scott Fujita’s three-game suspension for his role in the Saints bounty case was overturned (for the moment) Friday, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s playing Sunday.

A source told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that Fujita “most likely won’t play” against the Eagles, as he recovers from a lower leg injury.

Fujita was injured Aug. 10 in the preseason opener, and missed the next three preseason games. He returned to practice Aug. 28, but wasn’t in pads or team drills very often. He was away from the team facility last week, working out at a nearby college while the suspension stood.

If he’s not deemed well enough to play, the Browns are expected to start undrafted rookie L.J. Fort, since fourth-rounder James-Michael Johnson is out with an oblique injury.
