Getty ImagesNow the paperwork’s taken care of, and all that’s left to see is how much work Maurice Jones-Drew gets tomorrow.
The Jaguars announced they reinstated Jones-Drew to the active roster (he had an exemption after ending his holdout a week ago), releasing running back Keith Toston.
Jags coach Mike Mularkey has said he’ll start Rashad Jennings, working the league’s leading rusher from 2011 in as a third-down back.
How much work he gets is likely a function of conditioning more than anything else, unless Mularkey keeps trying to prove a point by keeping a lesser back on the field.

lol @ lesser back. You make it seem like Rashad Jennings is terrible or something. RJ is gonna have a lot more long yardage runs than MJD this year. Most people who watch this team knows this.
Um… Mr. Gantt, you are being extremely presumptuous and a bit ignorant by referring to Jennings as “a lesser back.” You actually don’t know he’s a “lesser back,” because he hasn’t started enough games to make that assessment. His YPC average is actually higher than Jones-Drew’s, so I don’t know what you’re basing your claim on. It is quite insulting to call Jennings “lesser,” and I’m sure his fans would disagree. “Unproven commodity” would have been a better choice of words. Think about what you’re writing so you don’t have to eat your words later. I’ll leave you with this question: When the Patriots decided to keep Tom Brady as their starter after Drew Bledsoe was healthy during their first superbowl run, were they keeping a lesser QB on the field? If you recall, many people argued that they were… where are those people now?
Has nothing to do with proving a point and everything to do Jennings being one heck of a football player and knowing the playbook top-to-bottom.
MJD is an Pro-bowler and currently holds the NFL rushing title. Cry all you want you insecure Jag fans, Jennings is a lesser back.
Until Jennings is the NFL Rushing Title Holder, he is a lesser back.
“Until Jennings is the NFL Rushing Title Holder, he is a lesser back.”
Based on that logic, Shaun Alexander was the man in 2006.
