He was 6-2 as the starter in 2011, after Kevin Kolb was injured and/or otherwise ineffective.

Now, John Skelton is the No. 1 quarterback in Arizona.

He joined Pro Football Talk on Friday to talk about all sorts of things that I could have recited almost verbatim at the time but it’s been a day and my memory isn’t what it used to be so let’s watch it together to find out what Skelton told Erik Kuselias.

If Kurt Warner wanted to return they’d take him in a heartbeat.

Warner had his time but this is a new era with new blood and a new found enthusiasm and desire to win!
Love these new young players who have demonstrated talent and are a new chapter for the Cards! The Cardinal Nation is behind you guys and will be cheering you on as you open the season against the Seahawks! GO CARDS, FLY HIGH!

clssylssy : people like you exist? really? I live here in Phoenix. I have never met anyone as enthusiastic about the cardinals as the post was. The only thing I can possibly think of is you work for the team and they told you to praise the team on blogs. It is not possible to be THAT HAPPY about Skelton unless someone is giving you money for it.

Skelton “was 6-2 as the starter in 2011”? OK. But what was his ERA?
Attaching records to a quarterback’s name is the goofiest idea ever dreamed up by the media. Vince Young: 31-19.
    That’s Vince.
    Not Cy.

In Sunday’s win against Seattle, Skelton started, but Cobb finished. Cobb threw the game-winning TD pass. Is Skelton now 7-2 as a starter? Just wondering.
