Adrian Peterson has made it all the way back.

The Vikings announced that Peterson will be in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Jaguars, which means that he’s returned from surgery to repair torn ligaments in his knee faster than anyone anticipated earlier this year. While he’ll still be splitting time with Toby Gerhart, we can look forward to our first look at Peterson in game action since his injury last Christmas Eve.

Signs had been pointing in this direction for Peterson for some time, but the Vikings definitely took all the time they could to make sure that they felt comfortable with his knee. Now that he’s back, the questions shifts to how soon it will be before Peterson is back to full speed.

Arian Foster hasn’t been out nearly as long, but his status for this game was in some doubt when he missed practice at the end of this week because of knee soreness. Foster will be starting for the Texans against the Dolphins on Sunday, although we’d expect to see a fair amount of Ben Tate in order to make sure that Foster’s knee issue doesn’t linger. It doesn’t hurt that the Dolphins don’t look like they’ll be too tough an opponent for the Texans in Houston.
