The Seahawks won’t have to turn the keys to their rushing offense over rookie Robert Turbin.
As reported earlier, Marshawn Lynch is active for the Seahawks’ opener against the Cardinals. Indications are that the team plans to use Turbin a bit more than they might under ideal conditions to keep Lynch from suffering any further issues with his back. The running game will be important for the Seahawks this afternoon if they want to avoid putting too much on rookie quarterback Russell Wilson’s shoulders in his first game.
They might not be worried about that, though. Coach Pete Carroll gives the impression that he’d let Wilson do everything on the field if only there were a way to turn football into a one-man game.
The rest of the Seahawks inactives are wide receiver Golden Tate, defensive end Greg Scruggs, tackle James Carpenter, cornerback Byron Maxwell, guard John Moffitt, defensive tackle Jaye Howard and running back Kregg Lumpkin. The Cardinals have deactivated quarterback Ryan Lindley, wide receiver LaRon Byrd, cornerback Greg Toler, running back William Powell, linebacker Jamaal Westerman, guard Senio Kelemete and guard Pat McQuistan.
