Bears think they’re kicking off a Super Bowl campaign

Players in the Bears’ locker room are in agreement that today is the first day of a Super Bowl season.

The Northwest Herald in suburban Chicago has a roundup of quotes from Bears players who believe that this team is as good a Bears team as the Windy City has seen since 1985.

Super Bowl or bust,” linebacker Lance Briggs said.

Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has acknowledged that he’s not at full speed after dealing with a knee injury all offseason, still believes that the Bears are in top form.

“Top to bottom,” Urlacher said, “this is the deepest team I’ve been on, and the most talented as well.”

Bears cornerback Kelvin Hayden has been on a Super Bowl-winning team in Indianapolis and doesn’t see why this year’s group in Chicago can’t win a Super Bowl as well.

“This is a veteran group, we have depth everywhere, so there’s kind of no gray areas – my personal opinion,” Hayden said. “We definitely have goals set as far as winning the division, taking care of business in the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl.”

Whatever holes Andrew Luck will try to find in the Bears’ defense today, it’s a unit that certainly isn’t lacking in confidence.

  5. source7769 says: Sep 9, 2012 7:55 AM

as good as the 85 bears team???? not unless you think urlacher with one leg is better then a healthy singletary where the dominate front 4 come on get real

Great insights by the Bears there. Cause, ya know, most other teams in the league are sitting around saying, “Yeah, we’re sh!tty.”

  10. Nikhil Balakumar says: Sep 9, 2012 8:16 AM

people forget the bears were one of the better teans around when cutler was healthy and with a healthy marshall, forte and michael bush they could def pull it off.

im thinking ravens vs. bears in the big game

No oline and an aging D isnt exactly a Super Bowl winning formula.

  12. yooperman says: Sep 9, 2012 8:23 AM

I see two reasons they won’t, and that’s just in their division.

Defense is too old and their offensive line still blows.

  15. clownsfan says: Sep 9, 2012 8:38 AM

Chicagomfans are the most fun to watch. When they fail, it is a glorious sight to behold.

So said the Packers last year, and the Patriots before that. Teams should just shut up and play football.

  19. kabasaman says: Sep 9, 2012 9:01 AM

This is the best division in football….. I see three of the NFC North teams in the playoffs. But the Bears should prevail.

The Bears are one of those teams that if everything goes right they could make it. But Cutler has to stay healthy and I also noticed that if one of his teammates drops a ball he pouts like a baby, he needs to quit that crap before he pisses all of his teammates off.

  24. someidiotfromouthereintheprojects says: Sep 9, 2012 9:13 AM

good for them, they should think that. i don’t think that, though.

  28. bearssuck says: Sep 9, 2012 9:28 AM

What are they going to say, there going to end up 3rd in the division. The reality is that they will

  29. iluvbears says: Sep 9, 2012 9:30 AM

Good luck with all that. We’ll see how it all turned out in about four months.

  30. hansenbrothers says: Sep 9, 2012 9:56 AM

Too bad they’re not even the best in their division.
