Players in the Bears’ locker room are in agreement that today is the first day of a Super Bowl season.

The Northwest Herald in suburban Chicago has a roundup of quotes from Bears players who believe that this team is as good a Bears team as the Windy City has seen since 1985.

Super Bowl or bust,” linebacker Lance Briggs said.

Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has acknowledged that he’s not at full speed after dealing with a knee injury all offseason, still believes that the Bears are in top form.

“Top to bottom,” Urlacher said, “this is the deepest team I’ve been on, and the most talented as well.”

Bears cornerback Kelvin Hayden has been on a Super Bowl-winning team in Indianapolis and doesn’t see why this year’s group in Chicago can’t win a Super Bowl as well.

“This is a veteran group, we have depth everywhere, so there’s kind of no gray areas – my personal opinion,” Hayden said. “We definitely have goals set as far as winning the division, taking care of business in the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl.”

Whatever holes Andrew Luck will try to find in the Bears’ defense today, it’s a unit that certainly isn’t lacking in confidence.
