Browns hanging around, thanks to Eagles’ lackluster play

Philadelphia Eagles' D. Rogers-Cromartie intercepts a pass intended for Cleveland Browns' Travis Benjamin during their NFL game in Cleveland Reuters

Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden’s thrown three picks, and rookie running back Trent Richardson’s averaging fewer than three yards per carry.

And amazingly, the Browns are right in this thing.

The Eagles’ wounds are self-inflicted, but the Browns defense has impressed.

After a Joe Haden interception (the Eagles’ fourth turnover of the day), Cleveland drove inside the Eagles 5-yard line, but had to settle for a field goal after Weeden gave a mighty effort to throw his fourth pick of the day.

It’s 10-9 Eagles with most of the fourth quarter remaining, and the game of football being set back decades with each passing moment.

They look like the two worst teams in the NFL.

LMAO @ Vick throwing yet another INT. Now the Browns are winning 16-10. Browns are playing some great defense.

At least the Eagles fans can’t blame Juan Castillo today.

Time for Vick to stop worrying about being a pocket passer. His legs are what makes him good, he needs to use them.

Get rid of Marecic, he catches that swing pass for a first down, game over. They said during the game that he can’t even catch it in warm ups, plus he gets blown up by linebackers. Bring up Smelley.

Hard to take many positives from this one. D played well, but they should have against a rookie QB with few weapons. To anyone that didn’t realize it before, losing Jason Peters is going to hound this offense all season.

This loss for Cleveland is totally on the COACHES! Had they put in Colt, this game would have ended in the W column, but they were to concerned about themselves. They didn’t want to suck it up and admit they got Weeden wrong! Way to go Shurmur and Holgren!

don’t worry footballchic, our coaches are the only reason your team was in it. 56 passes, and what 20 runs? at one point it was 45-14… worst play calling I’ve ever seen.

Actually, the headline was wrong. “Eagles hanging around, thanks to Browns lackluster play.”
