After completing all six passes on a 12-play drive that started the game for the Redskins, quarterback Robert Griffin III completed only one on the second drive.
And it was a big one.
Griffin connected with Pierre Garςon for an 88-yard touchdown pass, on the first play of a drive that came after Saints quarterback Drew Brees found tight end Jimmy Graham for a touchdown that gave New Orleans a temporary 7-3 lead.
Garςon has four catches for 109 yards, and it’s still the first quarter. So he’s on pace for more than 400 receiving yards for the game.
That probably would be a record.
