APFor the first Football Night in America of the 2012 season, Bob Costas interviews Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. And during the exchange they discuss an inevitable exchange between Roethlisberger and new offensive coordinator Todd Haley that will be far less cordial.
“It will probably be deserved, I hope,” Roethlisberger said regarding the chewing out that may come from Haley. “If it’s deserved, no problem. I’m sure he will at one point. Every coach, at some point, their temper starts to come out. But when it comes to that time, we’ll be able to deal with it and move on.”
The keys words, in our assessment, are “if it’s deserved.” What if Haley thinks it’s deserved and Ben doesn’t? Will Ben give it right back to Haley, creating a slice of video that will be dissected for days? Will there be finger pointing?
Either way, it’ll be fun to watch. Perhaps for everyone except Steelers fans.

Ben could serve every off season in jail as long as we win during the season! It’s the truth, not all Steeler fans will say it, but I will!
Meltdown coming up.
I’m going to enjoy watching Manning torch that awful secondry and Von Doom rip up that patchwork quilt blanket of an offensive line.
Wonder if he smiles like that when Von Doom chews him up and spits him out.
i’m a steelers fan, but being realistic i think we have way too many injuries to win tonight.
these starters are not playing: safety, linebacker, offensive line, halfback, fullback.
Keep dreaming ravenator. My money is on the raven’s ageing defense and oft under performing offense to collapse well before Ben and Haley cause a collapse. I actually think some fire and energy from the OC a refreshing change for the Steelers oft underperforming offense. GO STEELERS!
As a Steelers fan, I can’t wait for the blow up. Not sure when or why, but if it needs to happen, let it happen. Confrontation is good.
Has anyone seen Roethlisberger yelling at anyone on the sideline or try to throw a teammate or coach under the bus?
You haven’t because it’s never happened.
I have alot of admiration for Big Ben and the way he’s grown up, etc. However, he always promised to tell what happened in Georgia one day and he was chomping at the bits, etc.
Now that it’s all over with and the Nevada case was settled out of court last December, much due to the advising of the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, all is mute now.
Somehow I just don’t think Ben ever gave an account or was really sorry for his past behavior. I even noticed in the interview he did the other night with Bob Costas that Ben seemed tense to me.
I think it’s starting to be like a slap in the face and his marriage/baby plan was just somewhat of a PR stunt but I hope that I’m wrong. I wish Ben and Ashley the best as I do everyone.
