Source: Banner on board with Browns, unofficially

As new Browns owner Jimmy Haslam unofficially takes the reins of the team, the man who helped turn the Eagles into a consistent contender in the salary-cap era unofficially is poised to join the effort.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that former Eagles president Joe Banner has agreed to terms with the Browns.

Nothing will become official until Haslam is approved by the NFL as the new owner of the team. And Haslam may want to wait to unveil Banner until team president Mike Holmgren’s status is resolved.

When Banner resigned earlier this year, he said that he wanted to get involved with a rebuilding-type project. The Browns resemble that remark, arguably from top to bottom.
